Michael J. Swan

Member and Chair of Probate and Guardianship Departments

Michael J. Swan, one of the Firm’s founding attorneys, practices in the areas of guardianship, estate planning, mental health and probate and trust administration.  He maintains a statewide practice handling complicated guardianship and mental health matters for families and professionals.

Mike graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Economics and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law. He has been practicing in the guardianship and mental health area since 1985 and has actively served in The Florida Bar in substantive capacities at the statewide level in the development of probate and mental health law.

Mike demonstrates his commitment through his involvement in many distinguished organizations throughout the community. He has proudly served as Chairman of the Public Guardianship Program of Indian River County, Co-Chair of the United Way Annual Campaign, and on the Indian River County Estate Planning Council. He currently serves as the President of The Hundred Club of Indian River County, Chairman of the Mental Health Collaborative, Treasurer of the Indian River Lacrosse Association, and is on the Board of Directors of the Indian River Community Foundation.
